Hi! Okay, here by request -thank you so much for the invite, Gabby -and I just wanted to ask a few questions. 1. Does Torchwood come under the Doctor Who umbrella, or is it not accepted as a nomination? 2. Under the nomination of "most unconventional couple", is that strictly romantic "couple" couple, or are non-romantic pairs allowed? 3. Would it be possible for an best Alternate Universe nomination to be created? Sorry if the last one is out of bounds, but I just wanted to know if it were possible -my AU Rose/8th Doctor isn't coming under a lot of headings, lol -it's that mix of old skool/new skool that does it ;D Any help would be much appreciated!

Until I add the 'Torchwood' fandom, which, btw, you can vote on in the polls if you want it added, I'd rather it not go into the Dr. Who fandom since they are seperate shows, hope you understand? 2. Both =) 3. Not out of bounds, there is a suggestion thread for that, so feel free to suggest that and I'm sure, as that is a great suggestion as I can't think up all the good things to add like that for example, it will be added at a future date or next big update. Hope all this helps?

That helped a great deal -thank you!
Have voted like a mad thing on the appropriate polls, lol, and posted a fic to be viewed ;D
When do the submissions close, btw? You've probably posted this info somewhere, but I can't seem to find it, *heddesk*, so I am forced to resign myself to a visible show of my n00bness, and fling myself upon your indulgence.
Also, when is the next update scheduled? I was just wondering whether it was worth my time to post Wolf at the Door under the best categories I can, or wait until if/when an AU category is included . . .
*prays that Almighty Mod will not strike down the poor n00b with digital lightning*

Not sure, but soon, and you can wait because I'll be adding that soon enough so it would be worth the wait. (the AU fic category) 3. Not going to strike you down for n00bness, lol, cause we're all n00bs at one time or another, lol. That help ya out?

Uh, OK...I have no idea what's goin on here. I've been an avid fan fiction writer for about four years now and I've always wanted to win this Fanfiction Awards thing, and I got the email...
...but there are no nomination categories that fit the categories of fanfiction works I've done. (example, I've done plenty of (mature) Mario pieces, but there is no Mario category...get it?)
So, I'm flattered that I got invited but...why?

Regarding the judging scenario...
Hullo! I signed up to be a judge in a lot of the Dr. Who categories and the Dr. Who fandom as a whole (because I love reading it, but you'll never catch me writing for it) so I'm wondering a few things...
1. Would I have to read all Dr. Who fics even if their fanfiction doesn't fall under the category I'm judging?
One of the categories I signed up for is best author, so I will be reading all of them, but this is just FMI
2. Do we start reading/judging the fics as soon as they're submitted or once the submissions close?
3. Will there be a sub-forum meant for judges only to discuss the fics under the fandom they're in so that they can succesfully pic a winner or is it just a vote from each judge and their opinions?
4. After the submission due date passes, will there be an index created for all the submitted fics under that fandom?
Just some questions that sprung to mind ^^; Hope I didn't write too much.

For the 'Best Fic Author' award, you'll only be reading and judging all of the fics they nominated in that fandom, not in any other fandom they may have nominated, since you only sign up for WHO fandom categories. If you had signed up for say a CHARMED category too and someone had nominated a CHARMED fic, then you'd read that too. Make sense? 2. I haven't decided, what do you think on this one? 3. Vote from each judge and opinion, I really don't want any cocerision (sp) from any other judges to paint into any other judges minds =) 4. Yep, and each category in that fandom as well. Help at all?

Yup yup, mucho help! Although...
1. Okay, that actually helps plenty, but in the case of a judge who signed up, let's say for example the Dr. Who fandom and only the 9th/Rose category, would he have to read fanfic of 10th/Rose?
2. It would depend on how much time the submissions are closed for since it would be better if we had plenty of time to read all the fics; however, I think it'd be better after submissions close. That way, the fics can be read knowing that if they decide fic #5 is the best Leo/Piper and submit their vote to that, a new fic won't pop up to make them change their mind all of the sudden lol
3. Good idea!
4. Gotcha!
Thanks for clearing that up.

I think so too, because really, I think I'm going to give it 3 months for fic judging during which time you can still start to nominate all over again so there is no 'lag' time.

I noticed that there's going to be more nominating after this round. If we've nominated fics here that don't end up winning, can we nominate them again, even though we've already nominated them once?

I know, all places are disabled post counts except the submittions to nominations, but there will other places that will allow post counts in the future, no worries! =) I'm going to change some boards so the post counts count, like this section, it will just be for the general section, like chit-chat and games - like that.
