General - For *All* Fandoms

These are apart of all fandoms, they are not specific categories for fandom.



  • Best Femslash Fic; Must be based around around two females in a relationship, female/female. Can but does not have to be having sex.
  • Best M/M Slash Fic; Must be based around around two males in a relationship, male/male. Can but does not have to be having sex.
  • Best Het Fic; Must be based around a heterosexual couple. Can but does not have to be having sex.
  • Best General Fic; The fic must not be relationship based.
  • Best Timewarp Fics; Must be a time-travel fic.
  • Best Kink Fic; Must be more than smutty, more like NC-17 rated, not R rated.
  • Best Drabble; Stories that are no longer than 150 words.
  • Best Short-Short; Must have 151-500 words.
  • Best Short; Must have 501-2000 words.
  • Best Mid-Length; Must have 2001-10,000 words.
  • Best Epic Fic; Must have 10,001+ words.
  • Best Episodic Rewrite; Must be a rewrite of an episode or a missing scene from a tv show.
  • Best Series Fic; Must be part of a multi chapter series.
  • Best Wedding Fic; Must have a wedding as its main feature.
  • Best Romantic Fic; Must be romantic as its main feature.
  • Best Comedy Fic; Must be comical as its main feature.
  • Best Angst Fic; Must gut-wrenching as its main feature.
  • Best Baby Fic; Must be about children of ____ characters (babies, 5 and below).
  • Best Slash Fic; Must be a same sex fic. (can but does not have to include sex)
  • Best Fic; Must be about the show/movie(s)/book(s), ____.
  • Best Kids Fic; Must be about children of ___ characters (children, 16+).
  • Best Unconventional Couple Fic; Must be based on a couple we haven't seen together on the show/movie(s)/book(s).
  • Most Dramatic Fic; Must be a dramatic fic.
  • Best AU Fic; Must be set in an alternate reality.
  • Best Dark Fic; Must be a dark type fic, not a light toned fic.
  • Best Crossover Fic; Must be crossed over with something else, another tv, movie, book, etc.
  • Best Fluff Fic; Must be light, happy, etc.
  • Best Poem; Must be a poem.
  • Best Song Fic; Must have a song in it.
  • Best OTP Fic; (One True Pairing) Must be a pairing not seen in the books, movie, show, etc, unconventional, slash, etc.
  • Most Original Fic; Creative, different, not the normal, usual stuff.
  • Most Entertaining Fic; For the really entertaining fics.
  • Best Fairytale Fic; Must be basically this is either female/male has something bad happen to them then female/male 'rides along' and rescues them and there is a happy ending with a sunset or something.
  • Best Smutty Fic; Must have smut in the fic. Basically rated R fics. Not NC-17, there is the 'Best Kink Fic' category for that.
    Best PWP Fic; PWP = Plot? What Plot? = written without a real plot, more of just a crack piece.
  • Best Poem; Must be a poem.
  • Best One-Shot Fic; Must be a stand-a-lone fic. Not part of a series. Etc.
  • Best POV Fic; Must be must be written from one characters POV only.
  • Best Holiday Fic; Must based on a major holiday.
  • Best Pre-Series Fic; Must be set before the book(s), (movie(s), and/or tv show(s) started. Basically, a prequel.
  • Best Post-Series Fic; Must be set after the book(s), (movie(s), and/or tv show(s) ended. Basically, a future fic/sequel to whatever.
  • Best Quote Fic; Must be inspired by a quote or quotes.
  • Best Character Fic; Must specific story around a character or an inside look into their psyche
  • Best Threesome Romantic Fic; Must be based on 3 people who are romantic who are friends in the fandom and romantic but not sexual in the fic.
  • Best Threesome Friendship Fic; Must be based on 3 people who are friends in the fandom with no romance or sex in the fic around them.
  • Best Threesome Sexual Fic; Must be based on 3 people who are friends in the fandom and sexual in the fic.
  • Best Mother/Daughter; Must be a fic based on the relationship between mother and daughter.
  • Best Friendship; Must be a fic based on the friend of two or more characters.
  • Best WIP; Stories that are still being written. The only exception is that they must be regularly updated. Don't nominate a story that hasn't been updated in over three months.
  • Best Virtual Season Fic; The virtual season is usually a collaborative effort to produce a compilation of fan stories or scripts portraying episodes of an entire season for a television program – usually one that has been cancelled or is no longer producing new episodes." - from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PWP_%28fanfiction%29 - so the fic must be a virtual season written in fic form, not script form.
  • Best Fanfic Archive; Must be a fanfiction archive, this category can be Outside-Nominations allowed.
  • Best Personal Fic Site; Must be a personal website where you house your fanfics.
  • Best Fansite; Must be a fansite based on the fandom your entering it into.
  • Best Shipper Fansite; Must be a fansite based on a shipping (couple) from the specific fandom your entering it in.
  • Best Character Fansite; Must be a fansite based on a character of the fandom your entering it into.
  • Best Actor/Actress Fansite; Must be a fansite based on an actor or actress that plays in the fandom your entering it into.
  • Best Shipper Icon; Must be your own work, and based on a shipping (couple) from the specific fandom your entering it in.
  • Best Character Icon; Must be your own work, and based on a character (one) from the specific fandom your entering it in.
  • Best Episode Icon; Must be your own work, and based an episode from the specific fandom your entering it in.
  • Best Icon; Must be your own work, and based on the specific fandom your entering it in.
  • Best Shipper Collage; Must be your own work, and based on a shipping (couple) from the specific fandom your entering it in.
  • Best Character Collage; Must be your own work, and based on a character (one) from the specific fandom your entering it in.
  • Best Episode Collage; Must be your own work, and based on an episode from the specific fandom your entering it in.
  • Best Collage; Must be your own work, and based on the specific fandom your entering it in.
  • Best Shipper Wallpaper; Must be your own work, and based on a shipping (couple) from the specific fandom your entering it in.
  • Best Character Wallpaper; Must be your own work, and based on a character (one) from the specific fandom your entering it in.
